This Works In Transit Skin Defence

At the beginning of June my two current favourite moisturisers seemed to both come to an end at the same time.  This began the hunt for a new moisturiser to try and one that I could also take away on holiday.  I have to admit nothing really caught my eye so I popped to Boots to pick up some more This Works Perfect Skin Super Moisturiser when some red boxes on the display unit caught my eye.  They were of course the new This Works In Transit range of products that launched earlier on in the year.

With my holiday in mind I picked up the This Works In Transit Skin Defence which is a daily moisturiser with SPF 30 built in.  This Works describe it as a moisturiser with boosting botanicals and SPF 30, gentle for sensitive skin.  I wanted a face specific SPF as I have found that normal, everyday sun protections dry out my skin and cause me to break out.

I used this as my everyday face SPF in Florida and I was thoroughly impressed with it.  It has a very lightweight, non sticky formula that you can reapply all day if you’re using it as a sunscreen.  I liked that it was not only protecting my skin but also moisturising it and keeping it healthy at the same time.  If you are using it as sun protection (on holiday or at home) you’ll be pleased to know that it has UVA/UVB broad-spectrum sun protection to shield the skin from the sun and other environmental stresses.  Other key elements include Vitamin E which has a calming influence on skin but more importantly the ingredients list includes hyaluronic acid.  As you may know by now, 2013 is the year of hyaluronic acids; a magic ingredient that allows the skin to hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water thus keeping the skin moisturised and plump.  As somebody with dry skin hyaluronic acid has become an important ingredient in my flight to maintain moisture levels and keeping my skin looking healthy.  I would recommend this products if you are looking for a face SPF to take away with you on holiday as I didn’t burn once when I had this on.

If you’re planning on using this as a daily moisturiser which I plan to do now I am home it also sits beautifully under makeup.  I found that prepared my skin really well and gives a radient glow which makes the perfect base for foundation or tinted moisturiser.  I have also used it with BB cream with the same results.  The smell of it will always remind me of my holiday but I do genuinely think that it does have a slight whiff of sun cream that you may not get with other face moisturisers.

Would I repurchase? Absolutely!  This was probably one of the best products that I invested in for my holiday.  It kept my skin looking great and also protected it at the same time.  Even my boyfriend enjoyed using it on his face and he has even more sensitive skin than I do.  I think I would repurchase to use as a moisturiser under foundations that don’t have any SPF in them.  All in all a fantastic product from This Works.
