How Much is my Face Worth?

I’ve been reading this type of post with some fascination over the last few weeks.  I have seen so many where I’ve thought ‘Do you really wear that on your face everyday?’ Or, ‘Have you just picked out all your expensive bits for this post so you can feign shock at the total?’  Call my skeptical but I do genuinely believe that there are bloggers out there who have done this.  But, there are some that I have really enjoyed reading.  They don’t pretend to be disgusted by their total (because they are genuinely or because they had a good idea before hand).  So here I go with mine.  I’ll be honest I’m expecting it to come in over £100 because I know some of the items I use aren’t the cheapest choice.  What I have listed is the make up I have on my face right now after a long day at work.  This is my ‘go to’ work face at the moment, nothing too special, just the eight minute routine I have perfected in the early morning.  So here it goes…
Foundation: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser – £33
Under Eye Concealer: YSL Touche Eclat Concealer -£25
Concealer: Collection 2000 Lasting Perfecting Concealer £4.19
Blush: MUA Blush in Shade 1 – £1
Powder: Mac Mineralise Skin Finish – £21
Eyebrows and Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked Palette -£35
Mascara: L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Waterproof – £11.99
Total: £131.18
This total makes me chuckle.  I figured it would be something like this and I’m not too shocked!  Also, lets be honest I’ts not like I’m wearing £33 worth of LMTM on my face in one go is it??  If you worked out the price per item divided by how many uses you get out of each item, the amount would be MUCH less.  But that’s a bit too technical for me.  Also this total will go up or down depending on what I swap in and out (I’m partial to a bit of YSL Foundation, Nars Laguna and No7 Blush depending on the mood).  Will this make me think twice before reaching for my touche eclat for everyday use?  Probably not as looking awake and spot free is priceless…well obviously not 😉
