Vaseline Pink Bubbly Lip Therapy Review

Now I’ll be honest, I haven’t bought a tin of Vaseline for years.  When I was at school (yes, that long ago) the Aloe Vera flavoured one was all the rage.  Me and all my friends (and every other girl in my year) had a tin lying about the bottom of our handbags.  As I got older I started to move away from Vaseline.  It wasn’t that I didn’t like it, I just liked other things better.  So this is the first tin of Vaseline I’ve bought it about eight years!  Vaseline Pink Bubbly is a Limited Edition version of the standard petroleum jelly lip therapy balms.  It is marketed as a decadent alternative of the original and best selling petroleum jelly formula.
I bought this from Superdrug last week.  I thought it was only available in Selfridges but I guess that was only for a limited time.  In fact the only reason I bought it was because my friend did… total enabler that one!  Anyhow, I thought I’d give it a try.  The smell is lovely, nice and fruity and not vaseline scented at all.  It adds a slight pink tinge to the lips but nothing to write home about.  In fact using this has reminded me why I stopped buying vaseline… because it does not actually moisturise your lips!  However it does work as a fantastic shield against the cold weather.  It prevents the lips becoming dried out from weather, central heating etc which is actually a good thing!  It’s also great as a lip gloss over your lips or your favourite lippy.  you could say vaseline is one of those products that is useful to have in your make up collection as it can be used in a hundred different ways… moisturising just isn’t one of them.
Am I crazy for this product?  Probably not.  For me, it’s not essential but Vaseline enthusiasts will love it.  I love the packaging, very sophisticated but you can immediately tell it is a type of vaseline and it looks great in the collection but I’m not sure how much I will use it considering I’ve survived for eight years without owning a pot.
Have you tried this limited edition Vaseline? What’s your vaseline top tip?
