Yes you read that title right. You can actually order Deliveroo to be delivered to a pub.
The Wellington in Birmingham to be exact.
A few weeks ago I headed out to a #BrumBloggers event hosted by Deliveroo and The Wellington. If you’ve never been to The Wellington, or The Welly as it is more affectionately know, its a traditional old man’s pub located on Bennett’s Hill in Birmingham City Centre. It’s quite popular with real ale fans and I’ve been there a few times for a few after work drinks. The Welly doesn’t serve food but you are more than welcome to order Deliveroo to be delivered to the pub itself. An interesting concept. They even provide the cutlery and the condiments.
The Welly is also quite famous for another thing. It’s resident cat, Welly who popped by to see what all the fuss was about in our private room. There was a group of about twelve of us – all bloggers – and it was nice to catch up in a relaxed environment where everybody could order something a bit different!
Deliveroo kindly provided us with some credit to order the food of our choice. It took me a while to decide but I went for an old favourite in the end. I ended up ordering from 40/23 -my favourite place in Birmingham city centre to get Greek food. I ordered the diced chicken pitta – served with handmade pitta bread, hand-cut chips, fresh salad and yoghurt sauce… and it didn’t disappoint! I put my order in using the iPhone app and watched as my driver collected the food and brought it right there to the pub. It took around 30 minutes from order to delivery which was pretty great. I’m a big fan of how quickly Deliveroo get your food to you!
My food arrived well packaged and piping hot and I already knew it wouldn’t disappoint. If you haven’t ordered from 40/23 before I highly recommend you pay them a visit. You can eat it, take away or get it delivered via Deliveroo.
