Hillary’s ‘Crafternoon’

Last Saturday, Joe Blogs hosted an event in Birmingham in collaboration with Hillarys.  The idea was for Hillarys to showcase their new fabrics in a fun way that bloggers could resonate with.  They teamed up with the lovely ladies from The Crafty Hen to organised a craft filled afternoon for us.  It’s a pretty good job they were there as I’ve never really dabbled with crafting… not since I was about 7 years old when I use to partake in a bit of cross stitch!  I sat on a table with Sophie and Terri, which was lucky as I really needed their help at times!  It’s always nice to catch up with bloggers you’ve known for a while too.

Our first task was to create some super cute notebook covers.  I opted for the blue and white fabric because it reminded me of my favourite mug and finished it off with some pink detail because who doesn’t love a good contrast?

We then moved on to making a bird decoration which I actually found quite tricky as there was so much sewing involved. I must have overstuffed by bird slightly as he started to burst at the seams but i was still proud of my effort.

I really enjoyed my ‘Crafternoon’ so thank you to Hillary’s and Joe Blogs for having us and thank you for my lovely fabric tote, chocolate and candle 🙂
