Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum Review

I’m definitely a two perfume kinda girl; Ralph Lauren Romance for summer, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle for winter but every so often a fragrance comes along that mixes up the Status Quo.  Even though Marc Jacobs Dot perfume has been around for a number of years now, I’ve finally taken the plunge and bought something that is not one of my two perfume loves.

Firstly I think we need to talk about the bottle.  It’s certainly the prettiest of the three perfume bottles on my dressing table.  The red butterfly covered in dots is eye catching and beautiful and is said to be inspired by Marc Jacobs love of polka dots.  It looks quite something on my white dresser; stylish and elegant, something of a spectacle.

Now to the most important part – the scent.  As somebody who loves floral perfumes this is right up my street.  The fruity top notes of red berries and dragon fruit simmer down allowing the orange blossom and jasmine to shine through and before the dominant scents.  There’s also some vanilla thrown in there which brings it all together creating a fruity and floral scent.  The longevity isn’t too bad and after four hours or so it’s still pretty fragrant.

Overall I’m happy I’ve added this scent to my collection.  Scent is such a personal thing that no two people will like the same thing.  I’d always recommend going and testing a new scent a dew different times before you purchase it.  You may find it can depend on your mood as to whether you like it or not.  So will it replace one of my much loved favourites?  Maybe a few times in the spring and summer when I want something a bit different but my heart really is with ‘Romance’.   You can pick up Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum from Debenhams for £50 for 50ml.

I’ve heard great things about some of the other Marc Jacobs perfumes so may have to give them a whiff next time I pass them.  Have you tried Dot or any of the other perfumes from Marc Jacob?  Which is your favourite?
