Current Face

I definitely go through stages with products where I’ll use something obsessively for a few weeks then I’ll find something else in my collection that I haven’t used for a while, swap it in and the cycles continues.  With the warmer weather (hooray!)  I’ve been opting for lighter base products to allow my skin to soak up the sun (safely of course, lots of SPF!)  My eyes however, are probably more heavy than they’ve been in a while.  This is due to my hair colour changing so dramatically and as always happens when I go back brunette, I think I look better with a slightly more defined eye.

For my base I’m currently using the Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint in Bare 01*.  I’ve been wearing it about two weeks and first impressions are positive.  It’s light, blends well and is a great match for my pale skin.  Concealer wise, I’ve stuck with my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection in 001 Fair for years now as it’s the perfect way to cover spots.  As for my under eyes, my bags are masked with the L’Oreal Lumi Touch Highlighter in 001 (review here).  This is a great dupe for the YSL Touche Eclat – and a lot cheaper!
For my cheeks, it’s been a combo of Nars Laguna Bronzer from the One Night Stand palette for a light contour and Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls Blush. So subtle and easy to build. It also negates the need for a cheek highlight as it has the perfect amount of shimmer.
So lets get to eyes – I’m obsessed with a barely there purple look at the moment which I create using Mac Satin Taupe Eyeshadow, layered with Mac’s Satellite Dreams Eyeshadow. It has a small bit of shimmer and is a tad more interesting than my usual ‘go-to’ subtle brown smokey eye look.  I use the remains on my brush to line the lower part of my eye so that the purple is visable when my lids are open.  Then to define my upper lid I use the Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner* using small strokes to create the perfect line.  There’s been mixed reviews on this product but as my full review said, I think it’s difficult to learn how to use it in the first instance but the line, once drawn is solid and for me does not smudge one bit! I finish off the look with the Benefit They’re Real Mascara.  I’ve loved this mascara for years and it’s great at staying in place if you have oily eyelids like me.
Finally for lips I am LOVING the Liz Earle Lipstick in 014 Blossom* (full review here) for an everyday ‘my lips but better’ look.  I think this could be my favourite nude lipstick of the moment!
So that’s my current makeup look that I’m rocking on a daily basis.  Do you rotate your makeup on a regular basis?
