It’s about time, but Selfridges Birmingham are finally boasting a beauty hall that is worthy of boasting about. If like me, you’re from Birmingham, you’ll remember the year Selfridges opened with their minuscule beauty hall. It was around the time I started getting into makeup and after visiting the London one I remember thinking ‘Is this it?’ This disappountmenr followed me all through my teens and only ended a few weeks ago when Selfridges launched their brand new Beauty Hall. And now all I have to say is WOW, finally!!
With the biggest beauty hall outside of London, I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the new Selfridges Beauty Hall a few weeks ago where guests were treated to a champagne reception and a performance from Kelis – she didn’t do Milkshake, but she was still awesome! We then were able to mingle with all the brands and I was even lucky enough to have a quick 5 minutes with Charlotte Tilbury herself, discussing her range and fangirling a little! But let’s talk about the real news here in the fact that as part of their £20 million refit, the 3rd floor has transformed into Birmingham’s number one destination for all things beauty. We finally have brands such as Charlotte Tilbury and Urban Decay alongside old timers who now have the counters they deserve such as Chanel, Jo Malone and Tom Ford. There’s also a smaller version of the ‘back room’ of London Selfridges with a pick and mix section, affordable beauty and a killer perfume section.
The best thing about this refit is that Selfridges have introduced a ‘Beauty Personal Shopping Service’ with the fabulous Rose (she’s also a blogger – check out her site here). Rose is there to help anybody, with any budget find their perfect product or help them with a beauty overhaul. This service is currently FREE so if you haven’t checked it out, be sure that you do!
I’m so excited that Selfridges Birmingham have bought themselves into the beauty present! As England’s second city, it’s only right that we have a Selfridges we deserve. Gone are the days when I’ll save all my money for the next time I hit Selfridges London. Now if they could only install a Pinkberry downstairs, I might never leave!
