For me, there are two kinds of Mac purchases; the well thought out buy and the impulse ‘I must have this product now but not think about it’ buy. Recently I’ve made one of each of these purchases from Mac and I thought I’d tell you all about them.
We’ll start with the impulse buy for which Satin Taupe eyeshadow was definitely one of. After passing the eyeshadow section I was attracted to the shimmer and when I swatched it I was glade to see that it was exactly that – shimmery, not glittery. I guess this is probably down to it being a ‘frost’ finish. The colour is a mushroomy taupe with a hint of purple in the undertone. So far I’ve loved using it as an all over lid shade but I’m betting it looking incredible as an outer corner V shade also. I can’t wait to start experimenting with it properly but my favourite combination so far is wearing it all over my lid with a hint of Espresso (matte) in the outer corner – beautiful!
I began my quest for a new contour brush a few weeks ago and was recommended the 168 brush by my friend Kayleigh. I wanted something that would make my contouring more consistent and a brush that would keep it an easy process. Well, the Mac 168 Large Angled Contour Brush turned out to be everything I wanted it to be and more. It’s perfect for contouring large areas such as hollows of your cheeks or the forehead and is the perfect tool for blending out if you’ve over done it. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and it is so easy to use. It picks up products easily and distributes them evenly on the face. Like I said, it also makes building and blending face colours very easy and I think it’s already become a ‘HG’ product in my brush collection.
Sp those are my recent Mac purchases and after having a long look around their website there may be a few more sneaky purchases in the near future. What is your favourite Mac product and what would you recommend I pick up?
