Yo listen up here’s a story, about a little girl that lives in a blue (Nail) world… 90’s kids, I know you’re all over that lyric.

For somebody who doesn’t wear nail polish all too often, I sure have a lot of the stuff.  After my manicure the other day, I decided that I was going to try and paint my nails more often in the hope that it will discourage me from biting them.  Whilst perusing my ‘nail’ draw it occurred to me just how many blue nail polishes I actually have.  As you know from previous posts and videos, blue is my favourite colour so I guess it makes sense that my nail polish draw is full of blue – I can’t exactly wear blue lipstick everyday can I?

You can see that I have lots of different shades of blue within the collection – from stony greys with a hint of blue to all out turquoises and royal blues.  My very first blue nail polish was Topshop – Missile – a gorgeous, metallic, royal blue which looks great all year around.
Glitter is also represented in the collection with a fine glitter from Ciate (Glass Slipper) and a thick confetti style called Freak Out by Models Own.  These of course take a few more coats than your normal opaque nail varnish and I got tired after applying the fourth coat of Models Own – a bit too much effort for me.
I think my favourite of the lot is the Barry M Gelly High Shine in Blueberry.  Deep, sky blues are my favourite type of blue closely followed by royal blue so it just pipped Ciate – Power Dressing to the crown.  Although the more I look at it, the more I’m falling in love with Ciate – Chinchilla, it’s very understated!  Not all these colours are still available to buy but i bet there are some fantastic dupes out there for them.
I pledged to not buy ANY nail polish in 2014 and so far so good; 3 months in and not a penny spent on the stuff.  As you can see I’ve got lots to use up.  What’s your favourite blue nail polish?
