Benefit Big Easy Review

Benefit Big Easy BB Cream

If there’s one type of finish I love when it comes to make up, it’s a matte one.  I’m serious.  Matte bases, matte eyeshadows, matte lipsticks – I can’t get enough of it.  So when Benefit kindly sent me their new matte base I already knew I was onto a winner.
The Benefit ‘Big Easy’ Multi Balancing Complexion Perfecter* is a light to medium coverage that has a liquid to powder finish and for that reason, it’s pretty matte but also leaves the skin with a velvet like touch.  The idea behind the product is to give a visibly smoother and even skin texture and to balance out moisture and oil – oily skinned girls can rejoice here!  I also found it pretty long lasting and I was still rocking my ‘even complexion’ after a long day at work.  I applied it with both my fingers and my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and much preferred the finish I got with the brush.
Packaging wise, it’s fun and has all the usual gimmicks that you can expect with a new Benefit release (which can be quite hit and miss but I really like this one!)  It’s available in six different shades; Fair, Light(mine), Light/Medium, Medium, Beige, Deep Beige and states that it will self adjust on the skin to your exact shade.  It also has the added bonus of containing SPF 35 which will make it perfect for the summer when we usually go for the lighter bases.
The downside to this product for me is that I’m only going to be able to wear it on my very good skin days – I mean, when my skin is at it’s most hydrated with no dry patches.  Unfortunately it does cling to them and becomes rather noticeable as the day goes on so if you haven’t quite gotten control over your dryness this will unfortunately be one to avoid.  However oily girls can celebrate as I’ve heard a lot of my oily skinned friends say this is a great product to control their shine for the duration of the day.
So maybe not the perfect base for me but Benefit sure are bringing it in the new product stakes in 2014.  Their two newest offerings – this and Gimme Brow (review here) are already becoming popular products.
You can pick up ‘Big Easy’ from Boots or any Benefit counter for £27.50.  Have you tried Big Easy?  What were your thoughts?
