Why I don’t blog.

You may have noticed that over the last few weeks there have been a few occasions where I haven’t posted on my usual days.  Don’t get me wrong I’m not going to apologise for this; blogging is a hobby after all and sometimes we can’t always commit to hobbies.  But I thought I’d share a bit of a fun post today and let you know where I’ve been, or more accurately, what’s been distracting me.
1. Hart of Dixie (or any show on Netflix really…)
I mentioned this TV programme in my February Favourites and I’m still obsessed with it.  I’m almost at the end of season 2 now and I just don’t want to stop watching (mainly for fear of never being able to log onto US Netflix again).  Sometimes when I come home from work I’d rather do anything than sit down in front of my computer and blog.  I need to take, what I call my ‘I need to veg’ time.  I kick off my shoes, put on my pj’s and do nothing but veg on the couch in front of the TV.  It sounds silly but my brain feels rested after one of these sessions.  Back to Hart of Dixie – I love Rachel Bilson, I love the clothes, I love the men… need I go on!  Check it out if you’ve got access to US Netflix.
2.  I’m actually taking care of my skin
I’ve started Weight Watchers again to help shift a bit of the weight that’s slowly crept on since Florida.  This means I’m taking the time to prepare meals which are much healthier than I’m normally use to.  I’m spending much more time searching out new recipes and spending more time creating them in the kitchen.  This is having a positive effect on my skin as my junk food overload really had began to take it’s tole.  I’m also reintroducing exercise into my weekly routine.  I was always a sporty child growing up, then at uni I went to the gym, attended exercise classes and joined the cheerleaders.  Since then I’ve done pretty much nothing due to working full time and blogging.  I;ve started small with a few yoga classes once a week but I’m actually really looking forward to introducing some cardio when the weather gets warmer and I can run outside.
3.  I’m taking more ‘me’ time
This is slightly similar to point one but go with me.  With working full time I usually spend my weekends being committed to getting new content ready for my blog.  Before I know it, it’s Sunday evening and I haven’t taken any ‘me’ time before the start of the gruelling working week.  Most weekends I usually jump up around 8.30am and get to work but for the last few I’ve taken one of the days to laze in bed either watching Disney films, reading or having a lie in.  I don’t get to Sunday evening anymore and wonder where my weekend has gone and I really do think it’s because I’m taking the time to ‘do nothing’.
So there they are, the reasons I don’t blog.  What I will says is though after a week or two of the routine above I’m usually on a blogging kick and get inspired to write all sorts of different posts.  This method really does fuel my inspiration later on down the line.  To see what I’m up to when I’m not blogging, you can follow me on instagram.  My username is lilmisschickas 🙂  Quite a funny name for a post I know but I though it was fun!  I’d love to know what distracts you from blogging!  Leave me a comment below and tell me.
