Beauty Resolutions 2013 – The Results

I cannot quite believe that we are at the end of 2013.  I know I sound like my Nan but as I get older the years really do seem to be going quicker.  2013 has been a great year for me both personally and in blog world.  I found a job that I love and wake up every morning feeling inspired, I had two magical holidays and I feel like my blog and YouTube have finally gained a positive momentum.
Back on the 1st of January however, I set myself a few beauty resolutions and now it’s D DAY and time to check on whether I managed to keep any of these up.
1. Thou shall moisturise my skin at least three times a week – as the total currently stands at zero!
Hands up I’ve failed already.  I made this resolution with all the best intentions but sadly have not stuck to this.  However one positive thing is that I have been moisturising at least once a week which is still an improvement so I’m going to take the small victory.
2. Thou shall take better care of my nails – aka I won’t bite them when I am stressed or bored and I will stop biting nail polish off them.
Umm, OK I may have failed again here.  I definitely haven’t beaten my disgusting habit no matter how hard Ive tried.  I think I might be carrying this resolution over to 2014.
3. Thou shall clean my make up brushes more often – This is something I really try to do but as the only fee time I have is on the weekends, sometimes I really can’t be bothered.
WOOHOO one I’e stuck too!  Thesedays I’m cleaning my brushes a lot more frequently that I use to.  It’s still not as often as I’d like but hey, who has the time?
4. Thou shall stop picking my spots – Gross I know but hands up, this is what I do. I’m just going to reach for one of the many spot fighters I own and let them do their magic.
Hmmm this is a so-so result.  I definitely have cut down on picking my face, but every so often I get a juicey one I can’t leave alone.  I really do need to stop as, as my skin gets older the chances of scaring are going to increase.
5.Thou shall use up more products before buying more – probably the resolution my bank balance with love the most! I’ve only ever made one empties video on youtube because I NEVER get to the end of anything!
FAIL. I’m a beauty blogger, need I say more?
6. Thou shall take my makeup off as soon as I come home and not just before bed!
I think I’ve gotten much better at taking my makeup off at the first possible opportunity.  It still might not be the minute I get through the door but I no longer leave it until the last minute anymore.
So there you have it.  I may not be able to tick off many of these resolutions conclusively but I;ve made such an effort with most of them that I do feel that I’ve accomplished something from them and that’s the point isn;t it.  You’ll have to check back tomorrow to see what 2014’s resolutions will be as I’m still working on them.
I’d just like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everybody who has supported me this year.  My little blog practically doubles in size and my YouTube has also seen a more than double follower count increase.  I hope that you have loved coming to LMC over the past twelve months and hope you’ll continue to visit.  If you have five minutes, I’d really appreciate it if you could take my blog survey and let me know what you want to see in 2014.  And on that note I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year 🙂 xx
