2013 has been a bit of a crazy year for me. It started with moving in to out new flat and me getting a new job, then within a week heading off to NYC to celebrate James’ birthday. Then I visited the Harry Potter Studios (and you all know how much of a fan I am!!) before we jetted off to Florida in June and now I’ve just bought a new car (hopefully!). So when I was asked what I wanted to do for my birthday this year in all honesty I wasn’t really sure. Being smack bang in the middle of the summer holiday, I never want to go to theme parks anymore, they’re always hot and crowded and the last thing I want to do all day is queue all day in the heat/rain (erm hello, didn’t I just come back from Disney where that is the norm… yes I did… ooops!!)
So this year I’ve opted for the quiet life (well I am another year older) and I spent the day in Stratford-upon-Avon with my mummy. We’re so lucky in the Midlands to have all this enriching history just on our doorstep. Stratford is not far from Birmingham at all and I love myself a bit of history. I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Shakespeare apart from Romeo and Juliet of course; a love that will continue when I get to see the new film with Ed Westwick in…yum, but I get so engrossed in his story and how his literacy works are still celebrated hundreds of years into the future (do you think that will happen with JK and Harry Potter?) I spent the day eating good food, wandering around the quaint little shops, gorging on ice cream and sweets from the traditional sweet shop and spending some time by the river. My evening was fairly chilled too and I just spent some time with James and unwrapped a few more presents 🙂

Last year I got one ‘happy birthday’ message on twitter, this year I’ve had over thirty which is lovely to think that people who are almost strangers, expect for our mutual love of blogging, gave me a seconds thought today.
