One of the best things about coming back on the holiday is that most of the time your skin is in much better condition than before you went.  After Florida my skin was smoother and I had less spots.  I guess this is down to the skin naturally drying them out and injecting some much needed vitamin D.  The obvious change to the skin is the colour.  I’ve come back from Florida with a subtle glow which has surprised a lot of people as I think they were expecting me to be a lot darker but as I never dropped below SPF 30 on my face, that was unlikely to happen.  Safety first people!!

So onto my makeup.  I don’t know about you but after my holiday, the last thing I want to do is slather my face in foundation; mainly because my super pale shades don’t quite match my skin tone any more.  Another reason is because on holiday I don’t really wear much makeup and I seem to carry that mantra back to the UK for at least two weeks.  So my post holiday face is very simple indeed.  I use a bit of BB cream or tinted moisturiser to hide any imperfections that haven’t disappeared (if only!!)  I love to subtly show off my freckles which indicate that i’ve been sunning it up somewhere hot and I don’t really need to bother with concealer too much either because the sun has dried my spots out.  If iIm looking tired I will put some under my eyes just to brighten them up slightly or if I’ve got ‘plane’ spots they need to be covered too!  I use a bit of bronzer just to enhance my tan where the sun would naturally catch my face and blush to bring a different colour to the proceedings.  I’ve been keeping my eye makeup really simple lately so an all over shade and some mascara is enough for me.

I told you it was simple.  I really think that after a holiday you should make the most of your tan and beautiful skin.  Holiday’s are a great way to break routine and get you away from pore clogging products.  I know my skin has thanked me for the break from makeup.  Perhaps I’ll try makeup free more often…
