DKNY Keith Haring Fragrances Review

I’m very choosy about my perfume.  I’ve stuck to a few well known delights for the last few years but occasionally a scent comes along that shakes up my sweet smelling paradise and my gosh does it have to be a knockout!  The new DKNY ‘Be Delicious Art’* is just that!

I’ve dabbled with DKNY perfume in the past.  Back when I first started getting into beauty as a teenager, I used to wear  the ‘DKNY Woman Energising’ perfume.  It was one of my favourite scents for quite a long time.  I also know a few people that wear the original ‘Be Delicious’ and they’ve always smelt pretty good too!

This time, DKNY have teamed up with New York street artist Keith Haring.  For those of you that have never heard of Keith, he was deemed to be the ‘original’ street, graffiti artist and I bet if you do a quick google search you may recognise some of his work.  I’m a huge fan of the bright colours and living with somebody who is so into art it’s amazing, I have come across his work in the past.  When teamed with Keith, this perfume is meant to symbolise what DKNY and New York are all about; life in the Big Apple!

The DKNY ‘Be Delicious Art’* was inspired by Keith Haring’s eccentric style and creative palette.  DKNY think that his art and the message behind it is something that everyone can relate to and lets be honest, it’s really cool!  I love the design on the top of the bottle and when I got it out of the box it was immediately snatched out of my hand and a little voice commented ‘Why have you got a perfume bottle with Haring on it?’ So it’s two thumbs up from the other half before he’s even smelt it!  Scent wise, it has a slightly lighter feel to it than the original ‘Be Delicious’ but you can still smell the floral and of course, the green apple notes in it.  There is also a delicate balance of rose, mimosa, blackcurrant and lychee in there and it is all brought together by a light cedar-wood undertone.

For me, this will make the perfect summer fragrance.  It’s light enough so’s not to be overpowering but it lingers all day giving you a lovely fruity scent.  DKNY have also given a Keith Haring makeover to their ‘Fresh Blossom’ and ‘Golden Delicious’ bottles and you can find them nationwide from this week. They are also reasonably priced at £36 for 50ml.  It’s a limited edition so you’ve gotta be quick and I’m sure even after the perfume has gone I’ll be keeping to bottle, you know, for art purposes!

Let me know if you’re a fan of ‘Be Delicious’ or Keith Haring?
