Everyday Makeup #1

Recently, it occured to me that I’ve never blogged about my everyday makeup.  When I say everyday, I mean the makeup I throw on each morning for work or when I’m not doing anything particularly fancy.  I’m the type of person that gets into ‘makeup habits’.  I’ll wear the same make up for a few weeks then one day I’ll wake up and completely overhaul it all.  So I though I’d start a little series all about my everyday make up and whenever I update it, I’ll post a new blog post letting you know what has got my attention.

Over the last week or so (since the weather picked up) I’ve ditched the heavy foundation for a tinted moisturiser and have pulled out the old, faithful Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Nude.  I’ve found it to be really light and fresh on the skin and perfect for when the sun is out.  Concealer wise, I’m still rocking the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer in 01 on any blemishes that arise but under the eyes I’m now using another old favourite.  My YSL Touche Eclat highlighter has been a god send for under eye bags and sits really nicely on the tinted moisturiser.

As always, Nars Laguna bronzer to contour the cheeks and a dust on the forehead before moving on to the cheeks.  The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Dollface has been my weekday go to along with its sister ‘Tipsy’.  I find both of these blush’s leave a gorgeous colour with a huge amount of staying power.  When I come to take my makeup off at the end of the day, my cheeks are still going strong.  My base is finished with a light dusting of Mac Mineralise Skin Finish in Light and for highlight I use Soft and Gentle, as always!

I’ve been really excited about doing my eye makeup over the last few weeks.  I’ve been reaching towards another new purchase, the Urban Decay Oz: The Great and Powerful ‘Theodora’ palette using the colours ‘Beware’ and ‘Bewitched’.  I don’t normally wear eye liner everyday but I’ve be trying out the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero and my goodness this really does last all day, review soon!  Mascara wise, I’ve ditched the Benefit and am back to my trusted L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Waterproof Black.  Brow wise, I’m obsessed with my Mac Eyebrow Crayon in Fling.  It’s the perfect pencil to use as it lets you draw really natural strokes, blends well and can be used really softly or with lots of pressure.

Finally, the go to lippy of the moment is Mac Please Me.  It’s creamy, pigmented and looks great.  What more could you ask for in a lipstick?

So that’s it.  That’s my everyday make up for February/March.  I wonder when I will wake up again and think ‘it’s time to overhaul my face again today’.
