Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Review

If you’ve read my blog for a while you will know that my life is a constant battle to find the perfect foundation.  You can read posts here and here if you want to read the background on this journey.  I picked up Nars Sheer Glow from Selfridges before Christmas and have been giving it a thorough road test ever since.  Grab your makeup bags ladies and prepare to join the rave train…
I love it when I find a new foundation that I really like.  Nars Sheer Glow has been the perfect fit for my dry, pale skin.  For once, I’m not the palest shade in a foundation and picked up Mont Blanc, hurrah.  I was matched up at the Selfridges counter by a lovely lady who made me go and check it in daylight before she let me buy it which I though was great because lets be honest, how many times have you come away from a counter and your foundation has been too dark for you or you look orange in daylight.
Nars Sheer Glow is medium coverage that is easily build-able   I apply it using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and then run my fingers over to make sure it it blended as naturally as possible.  I love the way this foundation makes my skin looks.  It covers blemishes, spots and uneven skin tone fairly decently.  It acts like a foundation and concealer all in one.  Don’t get me wrong, if I have a particularly big volcano erupting on my face I still need to reach for my concealer.  It also doesn’t cover your under eye bags completely but I’d be confident going out in just this foundation.
It gives just the right amount of coverage, doesn’t look cakey and gives your skin a nice glow.  Also I’ve been really impressed with the staying power of this foundation, it seems to last all day and gives your skin a beautiful, luminous finish.  If you want to see this foundation in action, take a look at any of my pictures from the last month as I’m wearing sheer Glow in all of them 🙂
Overall, as you can probably tell, I really like this foundation and will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out.  If you have dry/normal skin I recommend going to get a sample from Nars and giving it a go for yourself.  One other thing, DON’T forget the pump which is sold separately otherwise you might struggle getting the right amount out resulting in waste!
