We’ve all got one night of the week where we like to take some time and treat ourselves to a good pamper sesh! Well for me that night is Sunday. Around 6pm on a Sunday I’ll disappear into the bathroom and let the pampering commence.
Bath time means Lush Time. I always have an assortment of bath bomb/bubble bars to hand and will pick one that suits my mood. I’ll usually light a candle or two, grab a magazine and relax until I reach a prune like state. I know some people hate baths but after living without one for over ten years, the novelty still hasn’t worn off. I really love using a body scrub just before I get out the bath. There is nothing more satisfying that knowing your getting rid of all the dead skin and your skin will look ten times better for it. I’m a big fan of Soap & Glory bath products and love using the Breakfast Scrub, even at night to get rid of all the nasty cells 🙂 Finally after I get out the bath I always make sure that my face is super clean ready for it’s pamper by cleansing it proper with fresh water and my Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, a product that cleanses and exfoliates all in one!
I’ve gotten into a really great routine of moisturising my body after having a bath (one of my new years resolutions.) Lately, I’ve been using the Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk which makes me smell like a cookie but leaves my skin incredibly moisturised and soft. Then I’ll use the Soap & Glory (are you seeing a pattern here…) Heel Genius on my feet and stick on a pair of thick socks so that when I wake up in the morning I have super soft feet ready for a week on the go!
The face pampering that happens really depends on the mood I’m in. Sometimes it can just be a simple face mask after my bath or shower; usually the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask that I’ll slap on about an hour before I go to bed. Other times it can be a bit more intense. I’ll usually start with a toner. At the moment I’m using Skinetica which is more of a spot lotion than a toner but it’s very effective. It reduces the size and redness of my spots and it’s ok to slather on more lotions and creams over the top of it. The I’ll move on to either serum or a gel. If you know me, then you know what I’m about to say. I’ll go for either my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair if my skin is looking uneven or if my skin is feeling dehydrated it will be my Hydraluron gel to inject some hyluronic acidy goodness into my skin. Finally I’ll slap on my moisturiser which is still my trusty Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre, still one of the best moisturisers I’ve ever used.
I keep it really simple with my nails as they are so brittle after years of abuse. I start by moisturising the skin around my nails with some Soap & Glory Hand Food then when its all soaked in I use a bit of nail varnish remover on a cotton pad and run it across my nails just to get all the excess cream off and makes sure they are clean before painting them. After making sure they’re clean, (and this bit usually comes while I’m watching Mr Selfridge…) I push back my cuticles with an orange stick then slick on two coats of O.P.I Nail Envy. This has been great at helping to strengthen my nails and they are a lot better than they use to be (even though they’re still not the greatest).
So there it is. My Sunday night pamper that gets me ready for my week at work. I hope you enjoyed the little insight. I’d love to know what is the most pampering thing that you do on your pamper night?
