YSL Touche Éclat Foundation Review

This has to be one of the most highly anticipated beauty products of 2012.  Rumor has it that this foundation has been 10 years in the making.  I’m talking of course, about the YSL Touche Éclat Foundation!  To cut a long story short, I ended up getting a sample of this when passing the YSL counter in my local Selfridges.  I had originally gone in to buy the Concealer but ended up walking away with this instead.  It was the week before it was officially being launched into Selfridges stores so they were handing out samples to anybody who visited YSL.
I was colour matched to the shade B20 which is part of the ‘Beige’ collection.  There are twenty two shades over three collections
Beige Dore (warm)
Beige Rose (cool)
Beige (neutral)
My first impressions of this foundation is that it is going to be a favourite of many people!  It glides so easily on to the skin and blends like a dream.  I apply it with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush.  I’ve been given enough for the 7 day sample, however I’ve barely used any of it and think I could squeeze another week, maybe two out of it depending on how much I build my coverage.
Speaking of coverage, it is a light to medium coverage with a weightless feel too it.  A bit of research online tells me that YSL have added no opaque powders (to avoid a masking affect) and have replaced them with a ‘soft focus gel’ which they claim will smooth away imperfections. All sounds pretty good to me!
Here is a before and after photo of my face so you can really see what it does:

(Sorry about the spots and the frizz!!)

As you can see the foundation makes my face look instantly brighter, healthier and masks my imperfections.  This shall be a definite purchase on payday!  The thing I like most about this foundation is that even though it is meant to give a brightening effect it is not dewy.  I’ve really gone off dewy foundations (such as my Benefit Hello Flawless) because I feel like it makes me look like I’ve just sweated a heck of a lot.  I like to build my own dewiness with highlighter and concealer.
YSL Touche Éclat Foundation is available now from Selfridges and is released nationally on July 19th 2012!
Has anybody else tried this?  What are your thoughts?
