Something a bit different this time folks. I thought I’d tell you about my day out to watch the Olympic Torch Relay. The torch came through Birmingham On Saturday 30th June/ Sunday 1st July. It practically passed my house on Saturday but James was at work so on Sunday we packed ourselves off to Royal Leamington Spa for the day.
We started with an amazing lunch (Roast Beef and all the trimmings and a cheeky chocolate brownie) before a drink with friends. Then it was torch time! We made the short walk to the route, got the camera ready and witnessed the historic moment. I know there are a lot of people who aren’t really bothered about the torch but being as patriotic as I am I want to be one of those people who when their children ask if they saw the torch I can say ‘You betcha!’ Leamington parade was packed, there were so many people with their flags, banners and horns. It really was a special moment watching everybody come together for it!
And that’s all I really have to say on the matter. I’ll leave you with some of my photos.
Did anybody else go to see the torch? Did you make a day of it/ are you planning too?
