Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Review

It seems to be that around this time of year, or perhaps earlier when we switch up our heavy, ever concealing foundations for something more light and fresh.  Of course I’m talking about tinted moisturiser.  2012 seems to have been a big years for the TM’s with a lot of bloggers raving about them more so than normal.

I myself, float between my new summer foundation YSL Touche Eclat and an old favourite in the form of the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser.  I first came across Laura Mercier late last year when I started taking more of an interest in what was going on my face.  I’d always wanted to try a tinted moisturiser as my mum raves about them, it’s all she uses come rain or shine.  I picked up a sample at my local counter and since then I’ve been hooked.  I picked up the big bottle a few months ago and have been waiting for the weather to improve so I can whip it out.  Unfortunately the weather hasn’t come yet but I’ve been wearing it anyway!
Now onto the Tinted Moisturiser!  Firstly I should probably say that Laura Mercier do three variations of this product.  They do it for ‘normal’ skin, oily skin and for skin that needs to be illuminated! I’m currently using the ‘normal’ one in the shade ‘beige’ as I have dry to normal skin.  The oil free version is great for you gals with a bit more oil so I think it is really easy to find which one will suit you.  It contains SPF 20 which offers you protection against the sun’s harmful rays.  It also contains an antioxidant complex that acts as a ‘free radical scavenger’ to protect the skin from environmental nasties.
I apply mine with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush but I’ve read that a lot of people also use their fingers.  I stopped using my fingers a long time ago with my makeup base.  I just find it easier to blend with my brushes.  I find it very light on the skin unlike most my foundations and it offers me great coverage even with my most stubborn spots.  Of course I still use concealer but I don’t have to cake it on because the coverage is too light.  This TM has the perfect balance and is exactly what my skin needs. I use this in place of my moisturiser in my morning skincare routine.  A product that kills two birds with one stone… yes please.
Will I be repurchasing this when it runs out?  Most definatly!  This is the best tinted moisturiser I have tried… and I’ve tried a few in my time with my mother being the tinted moisturiser junkie that she is!  I’d love to try out a few more chosen ones that I’ve got my eye on *cough cough* Chantecaille I’m talking about you!  But until I have the pennys available I’m really happy with the one I’ve got.
What’s your favourite Tinted Moisturiser?
