Review: Clinque Even Better Make Up Foundation

If you are a regular reader of my blog  (or have had a nosy back through older posts) you will know that I picked up my very first foundation sample from Clinique last week.  This sample was of the ‘Even Better Make Up Foundation’.  It’t the one they advertise on TV with the speckled egg and then they pour the foundation over it and POOF!! No speckles any more!!
Being a paley, the girl gave me the lightest shade they did (01 Alabaster) to try.  So after a few days of use here are the results…
What Clinique Say:
“New Even Better Foundation SPF15 oil free formula, a powerful foundation developed to help combat hyper-pigmentation and deliver brighter skin, both immediately and over time. Includes treatment benefits to help even skin tone and SPF protection to help prevent future hyper-pigmentation. Provides moderate to full coverage, leaving skin instantly perfected with a unique mineral blend.”
The first thing I will mention is that the consistency of the foundation is a little runny.  When I poured it onto the back of my hand it runs away slightly from where I poured it.  It’s nice a light and easy to build up on the face.  I applied mine with my ‘Real Techniques Stippling Brush’.  I first applied a light layer all over and then built it up in my problem areas (around my t-zone, chin and nose).  As you will know I am suffering from very dry skin at the moment and when applying this foundation I was worried it would cling to my dry patches and turn orange.  Fortunately it didn’t and it lasted fantastically!
It definitely evened out my skin tone, especially in the areas I gave it more coverage.  My boyfriend commented on how bright and healthy my skin looked.  When going out with it I added a little concealer under the eyes and to the spots and a touch of mascara and blush.  I didn’t even need to set it with powder which was brilliant.  I had a nice glow but a good amount of matte coverage.  It also didn’t oxidise during the day and leave me orange!!
Overall I’m impressed with this foundation.  For my skin type it has really worked wonders.  My skin looks healthier, my spots aren’t as red and it’s lasted ages!  This retails for around the £22 mark and I will definitely be adding this adding to my make up collection!
