All in all this was reasonable priced to. For three courses each plus two beers and two glasses of wine it came to £70 which I don’t think is too bad considering the quality!
So I thought I’d mix it up a little this week and add some kind of culture post into the mix. On Saturday James and I treated ourself to a steak at Miller & Carter, a steak restaurant at the Mailbox in Birmingham. It was an opportunity to get dolled up and enjoy some time together after a very weird Saturday morning (we woke up to find we had been victims of crime 🙁 ) Miller & Carter are owned by Mitchell & Butlers and can be found nationwide.
This could possibly have been the best meal I have ever eaten! I’ve taken some photos for you to look at (your will dribble!) I didn’t get a picture of the starter because I was too keen to eat it but I have some lovely chicken wings in BBQ sauce served with a blue cheese sauce to dip into… it tasted like heaven!
For my main I had an 8oz sirloin cooked medium rare. It is the most tastiest steak I’ve ever eaten. It was moist and flavoursome and cooked to perfection. James had a Steak Wellington which is steak encased in pastry, pate and mushrooms.
Desert was just as amazing. I was so full I just had ice cream. James has a lovely piece of cheesecake with raspberry coolie on (does anybody else think of Joey from Friends ‘excuse me Sir what is this red crap on my cheesecake?’)
I would highly recommend Miller & Carter for a date with that special someone, or even with family! I’m really lucky here in Birmingham as they have just opened a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse too. Can”t wait to try it out!! Think it will need to be amazing to top this steak.

I hope you enjoyed my little review. What’s your favourite chain restaurant?
