Last week I was summoned to Leicester Square in London by Benefit for the launch of their brand new product which of course turned out to be the Benefit ‘They’re Real Push Up Eyeliner*.  I must say, I’ve never been to a product launch like it.  Benefit spared no detail on the theme which was #CriminallyEasy (because it’s so darn easy to apply!)  We had our mug shots taken, were served snacks in prison food trays and drank from prison mugs; well we drank champagne but still.

But what we’re all really interested in here is the new product itself.  If you read my blog you’ll know that eye products is where I really struggle to find ones that last due to my excessively oily eyelids (that sounded gross didn’t it?)  Just like it’s Mascara counterpart, the ‘They’re Real’ push up liner promises to deliver unrivalled staying power and when tested during anonymous tests, woman found that it really did live up to the claim.  I was lucky enough to be given the product to take home and play with and now I’m happy to report back my initial findings.
I’ve been using this liner everyday for the last week and I have to admit that I am so impressed with it.  To really test it to it’s limit I’ve worn it with and without eye shadow, during the day to work, at night to an event (where Charlotte Tilbury complimented me on my eye makeup) and during this lovely heat wave we seem to be having here in the UK at the moment – and each time it has lasted.  It’s taken over 10 hours to show even the smallest bit of fade!  Even my work colleagues have asked about it!
First Attempt

Applying it takes some getting use to.  According to Lisa Eldridge who helped Benefit with the product, the best way to apply is small strokes and to build it up from there.  After a few days the process was a lot quicker and I had more control over the nib of the pen.  It’s now so easy for me to create thin or thick lines on my eyelid; although I’m not quite at the one handed phase that Benefit promised it could be done it quite yet!  Benefit have also launched a gentle eye makeup remover to help remover both of the ‘They’re Real’ products so the days of practically pulling out our eyelashes to get the mascara off are over… hooray!

Overall I’m really impressed with this product and would recommend it to fellow oily lided girls.  You can pick up the Benefit ‘They’re Real’ Push Up Liner from Benefit counters on it’s release on 28th June are will be priced at £18.50.
