Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray Review

A few months ago, I spoke about some fantastic haircare that gave me effortless curls straight after washing my hair, no styling required.  I mentioned that whilst it was possible to just use the shampoo and conditioner, I also said that for an extra bit of definition and hold I would use a texture spray.
The Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray is not the usual type of texture spray.  When trying to decided whether to buy this or the bumble and bumble texture spray I realised that they were very different.  The bumble and bumble offering is more salty and gives more of a crispy offering.  This Oribe version does not cause crispiness what so ever.  In fact it’s not like your average texture spray at all.  For one it smells heavenly and nothing like a sea salt; honestly I am obsessed with the smell and I think that all hairsprays should smell like this.  As I sit here writing this blog post I keep picking the bottle up to give the top a good sniff.  It also (as previously stated) doesn’t leave a 90’s-esque crispiness.  In fact, I’m not even sure it can be classed as a texture spray because Oribe sell another product that is called just that!
You can use this product in a few different ways; the first is to spray a healthy dose onto damp, freshly washed hair then use the hairdryer to create some oomph!  The second is to spray it onto damp hair and let the natural heat do its thing (Beware you may need to be in a hot climate to use this method.  I probably wouldn’t recommend it in a British winter but it worked a treat in the Florida sun!) The third, final and my favourite way to use it: spray it on to freshly washed, dry hair, whip your hair upside down and give it a little tousle and throw it back over your head (and give the mirror your best model pout as you do!)  When using this product I’ve said goodbye to frizz and unmanageable curls.  It gives great definition but still allows you to run your fingers through the ends without getting them caught in a tangled mess.  However I feel I ought to tell you that using too much of this product has quite bad results.  The same applies for going to many days without washing your hair.  As somebody with thick hair, I don’t need to wash it everyday and can usually go 3-4 days however when using the Apres Beach Spray it needs a good wash every 2-3 days or it can get quite gritty!
The Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray is available from Space NK for £25.  Slightly eye watering I know but once you try this stuff it’s easy to overlook the price tag.  This has been my ‘effortless hair in a bottle’ miracle.  I’m even onto my second bottle of the stuff.  Bumble and who??
Have you tried anything else from the Oribe haircare range?
