Mac Pro Long Wear Blush in ‘Stay Pretty’ Review

Of all the makeup bits that I collect from Mac (cough lipstick and eyeshadow) blush is not something I usually stray towards. Prior to this purchase I only owned one Mac blush; a wonderful colour called Prism, a dull greyish brown that is great for contouring rather than blush.  Whilst perusing the Mac counter in duty free way back in June I came across a new blush that took me totally by surprise and I had to add it to my collection.
Mac Pro long Wear Blush in ‘Stay Pretty’ is a vibrant pink colour that in the first instance, looks a little scary!  I don’t own a pink blush as bold as this one as I usually go for subtle colour that you can layer and build to you hearts content.  With Stay Pretty I’m playing the ‘how much is too much on my brush’ game in fear of looking like a clown but trust me with a bit of effort that result can easily be avoided. Ok you get it, you don’t need a lot but once this blush is on, damn is it beautiful!  My cheeks look rosy and fresh and the silky texture gives a effortless finish.  It reminds me of a cool winters day when all the blood goes rushing to your cheeks and you have that healthy glow about you.  The best this is, is that with a lot of blending you can make this as vibrant or as subtle as you like so for vibrant blush virgins this really isn’t so scary!!
Stay pretty is part of the ‘Pro Longwear’ collection and I believe it is a permanent colour.  It’s definitely not going anywhere, anytime soon.  Of course this means it comes in at the pricier end of the Mac blush market at £20 but with my duty free discount I managed to save myself a couple of pennies, hooray!!  I found that this blush is super long lasting, like my Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes it outlasts the rest of my face makeup and only really needs touching up around the seven or eight hour mark.  It has definitely spurred me on to try other Mac blushes, what’s your favourite colour??
